About the Reporting

More than 400 participants gathered for the event, filling the venue, KANDAI Me RISE at Kansai University’s Umeda Campus, with an incredible sense of energy and excitement.

From the very first talk session, the discussions took on a broad perspective, exploring the possibilities of coworking on both a national and global scale. I found the ideas and conversations incredibly exciting and inspiring.

In particular, the idea that “coworking spaces can serve as ports that bring in resources from outside the community” left a strong impression on me and prompted me to reconsider the role coworking spaces can play in local communities.

With Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai on the horizon, the coworking movement was gaining momentum—not only across Japan, but around the world. It was an honor to witness firsthand the energy driving that movement and to be there at such a pivotal moment.

In the closing section, I also took the liberty of including a personal message to the people in the coworking community whom I deeply admire.

“Even in these uncertain and turbulent times, may we never forget that we have companions who support and collaborate with one another, and who find joy in meeting again. Though we may work in different places, I believe we share the same vision for the future. I look forward to the day when we can all gather here once again.”
